In the heart of Glenwood, just outside Washington DC, is one of Maryland's friendliest clubs - Cattail Creek Country Club.

We are pleased to have you as a guest at Cattail Creek! Whether you are attending a golf outing, business meeting, special event, or will simply be enjoying the Pool or Restaurant for the day, the below information should help you to feel right at home while visiting the Club.

Cattail Creek Country Club maintains a dress code to make our environment more enjoyable and to maintain a standard of excellence for Members and guests. Good taste and judgment should always prevail in the absence of a specific requirement.

Membership Information

  • Golf
    • A standard golf dress code policy applies to everyone, including children, while on the Golf Course and practice areas. Shirts must remain tucked in at all times and proper golf shoes are required. The changing of clothes and/or shoes must be done in the Locker Rooms located in the Main Clubhouse. Juniors must abide by the same dress code rules as adults.

      Acceptable:

      • Slacks

      • Golf skirts and Bermuda-length shorts

      • Rain gear

      • Collared shirts

      • Jewel-neck shirts

      • Sleeveless shirts with a shoulder width of at least 3" (women)

      • Short-sleeve mock turtle necks with collar height of at least 1 ¼” (men)

      • Hats and visors (to be worn bill forward at all times)



      Unacceptable:

      • T-shirts

      • Tank tops

      • Hoodies (golf-brand sweaters with small logos and hoods are permissible)

      • Sweatshirts or sweatpants

      • Tennis shorts

      • Sports jerseys

      • Denim

      • Cut-offs

      • Bicycle/spandex shorts

      • Swimwear

      • Cargo shorts

      • Shorts of less than Bermuda-length

      • Shoes other than golf shoes

  • Clubhouse/Special Events
    • The Clubhouse, Bar, and Patio maintain a relaxed dress code that permits denim. Please see below for a list of unacceptable attire in those areas.

      Unacceptable Clubhouse Attire:

      • T-shirts with large logos or images*  
      • Tank tops
      • Hoodies (golf-brand sweaters with small logos and hoods are permissible)*
      • Sweatshirts with large logos or images*  
      • Sweatpants
      • Sports jerseys
      • Denim with rips or tears
      • Cut-offs
      • Swimwear
      • Cargo shorts
      • Gym attire

      * The size of an adult fist or smaller is good estimation for appropriate size of logo or image.

      Gentlemen are required to remove caps when indoors. Members seated on the Lower Patio or in the Lower-Level Bar may wear appropriate tennis or golf attire, as described under the Golf and Tennis sections.

      The Founder's Reserve does not allow denim and is restricted to Members and guests 16 years and older. 


      Some Club functions also adopt the ‘special event’ dress code, which will be posted on the event’s description. Members can also inquire with the Club as to whether your dining experience will require 'special event' apparel.

  • Tennis
    • Tennis shoes are required to play on our tennis and pickleball courts. Though a "whites" policy is not enforced, proper tennis clothing is required and includes skirts, shorts, dresses, tops, and t-shirts. When dining before or after your match, tennis apparel is permitted at the Pool Cafe, on the Lower Patio, and in the Bar Area of the Restaurant.

  • Pool
    • Only proper swimwear is permitted in the pools; cargo shorts, denim, and sports shorts are not acceptable. When leaving the immediate pool area, a bathing suit cover-up, and shoes, must be worn. Children who are not toilet trained are permitted in both the Main Pool and Baby Pool, and must wear swim diapers in both areas. Children wearing swim diapers in the Main Pool must be accompanied by an adult. 

  • Cell Phones & Laptops
    • Cell phones are permitted on the Golf Course or in the Restaurant for texting or internet use only. Active phone calls are not permitted when playing Golf, using the Driving Range or Short Game Area, or dining in the Restaurant or Bar. When dining in the Restaurant or Bar, you are welcome to step into any of the common areas, meeting rooms, or outside, to use your cell phone. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the Clubhouse and at the Pool. Laptops may be used in the Meeting Room and the Bar Area of the Restaurant.

  • Payment
    • Cattail Creek is a non-cash operation; all charges incurred are applied to the host Member’s account. Guests who are members at other clubs, are welcome to take advantage of reciprocal billing, if that club accepts it. The Golf Shop and Restaurant accept Visa and Mastercard payments for an additional administrative fee.
