Cattail Creek's Tennis Program is booming!
Courts & Pro Shop
Cattail has seven beautiful Har Tru clay courts. A state-of-the-art ball machine is available for Members to rent and online court reservations are offered.
The Tennis Pro Shop offers catalogue ordering for all of the most popular brands of apparel, bags, glasses and accessories. Cattail's Mill River Program allows Members to purchase these items at just 15% above the Club's cost! Same-day racquet re-gripping and re-stringing services are also offered.

Junior Tennis
Cattail Creek Junior Tennis has gained local, regional, and international recognition. The Club is proud of our successful Junior Members:
Jordan Portner has reached the top 50 National ranking in his age group. He will play tennis at Georgetown University in the fall of 2013.
Beatrice Capra has reached a top world ITF ranking and plays for Duke University. She had a phenomenal run at the 2010 US Open Championship, winning two rounds, and making it to the third round, losing to Maria Sharapova.
Melissa Fasteau is playing Club Tennis at the University of Michigan.
Katie Spector is playing Club Tennis for Clemson University.
Junior development is fostered in a number of ways. Summer camp is offered for Juniors ages 4-18, high performance academy clinics are offered for tournament-level Juniors, and summer Junior league is offered for kids between the ages of 4-18. Additionally weekly beginner clinics are offered for those just getting started with the sport. Junior tennis camps, clinics and lessons are available to Cattail Social and Golf Members only.

USTA Leagues
Participation in USTA league tennis at Cattail Creek, continues to steadily increase each year. Involvement has helped the Maryland District increase its numbers by more than 12%. The Mid Atlantic Section’s participation has risen 66% in the last five years, is the 6th largest USTA section in the United States.
USTA participation is open to players of all levels, including beginner. Cattail Tennis Professionals are happy to help place you in the appropriate league. The spring adult season begins around mid–April and includes men’s 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0, and women’s 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 levels. The winners of the Cattail leagues advance to the Howard County playoffs in July with a chance to progress to the Maryland District tournament.
Additionally, a women’s spring senior league is offered for those age 50 and older, and men's and women's fall combo leagues are also offered.

Socials, Tournaments, Clinics
Our Tennis Professionals are busy! Each week brings a variety of regularly scheduled adult clinics including: beginner clinics, cardio drills, stroke-of-the-week drills, and doubles strategy. Private and semi-private lessons are offered to Members by Director of Tennis, Joe Mattingly and Head Professional, Tim Halter.
The Cattail Creek Women’s Tennis Association (CCWTA) promotes the social aspect of women's tennis. With nearly 100 participating Members ranging from true beginners, to very advanced players, the ladies participate in upwards of 15 themed socials including "Tennis and Tiaras," "School Pride," and "Scary Halloween Tennis."
Men's tennis is also growing exponentially with Men's "First Thursday" socials, and a growing number of male participants in the USTA.
